Lone Star Index Methodology

Lone Star Index provides research on 118 active Texas-headquartered public companies, including stock performance, corporate relocations, exchange listings, and SEC insider filings.

The relocation is the signal. Explore live data, research, and methodology at Lone Star Index.

Data sources and refresh cadence

Finnhub supplies quotes and selected market data. Yahoo Finance supplies historical price history. SEC EDGAR Form 4 filings support insider activity. Koyfin-verified three-year returns are reviewed with their verification date. The Rēlo Feed is refreshed quarterly, and the TXSE monitor runs every six hours.

Three-year return comparison

Three-year company returns are total-return comparisons over the same verified period as the S&P 500 benchmark. Outperformance is the company return minus the S&P 500 return; the displayed as-of date is the Koyfin verification date.

Physical moves and legal redomiciliations

A physical headquarters relocation records where a company's operating headquarters moved. A legal redomiciliation records a change in the entity's legal domicile; it is tagged separately and is not treated as a physical HQ move. ExxonMobil's New Jersey-to-Texas legal redomiciliation in 2026 is an example of the distinction.

Relocation Score

The Relocation Score ranges from 0 to 100: 50% post-relocation performance versus the S&P 500, 30% insider conviction, and 20% trailing momentum. It is a research framework, not a forecast or recommendation.
